Green, friendly and fair policy

Creating impact – an ongoing journey

At Beehive Green, I like to do things in a way that’s kind to the planet, good for everyone involved, and just plain decent. It’s the only way to play a part in building a sustainable, just future. And for accountability, I’m sharing my steps right here on this page!

Planet

  • Our planet needs us. I keep my environmental impact as low as possible by using less energy, producing less waste, and choosing eco-friendly products.

  • To do better, I’m on a verified net zero plan with Wenta and have achieved gold status. I’ve pledged to halve emissions by 2030, achieve net zero before 2050 and made an action plan to get there. I’ll share my progress annually.

  • As well, I fund monthly climate action through Ecologi and plant a thicket of trees for every branding project.

  • I prioritise ethical sourcing and supply chain practices, partnering with people who share my commitment to social responsibility.

  • It doesn’t get talked about as much, but storing digital content has a huge impact on the environment. I delete everything I don’t need. I use Squarespace to build and host websites. As I rely on their hosting, I’m lobbying for more transparency – their latest ESG report is here.

People

  • I love partnering with organisations doing good. I offer charities a special non-profit rate or pro bono deliverables to supplement branding projects.

  • Community is everything. I give back by volunteering as a mentor. Currently, I’m supporting a third-year film student via the University of Hertfordshire’s Career Mentoring scheme, and a sixth form student on Beleve in Her Success programme. Beleve is an amazing charity for girls and young women.

  • I donate 1% of my annual profits to a good cause. This years’ recipient was Digswell Lake Society, a local nature reserve charity I’m a member of.

Principles

  • Beehive Green stands for doing business ethically and setting a positive example for others. I support charters including Design Declares, The Ethical Move and Better Business Act.

  • I integrate ESG considerations into strategic decision-making processes and business planning.

  • My associates are trusted teammates and always treated fairly. I work closely with them to make sure they’re on board with my values and committed to doing things the right way.

Policy

That’s it in a nutshell. This policy isn’t set in stone and I won’t get it right all the time. I’m always looking for ways to improve and do better.

This studio may be small, but I’m committed to doing the right thing. Transparency matters – I’m open about what I’m doing and why. Thanks for being part of the journey!
